Yep it’s that time again, the fat guy in the red suit gets out and about showering gifts, Roast turkey, sprouts, cranberry sauce, Boxing Day Test Match, it’s Christmas Time!!!! And The Office kicks it all off on Thursday with a great Christmas party featuring Live Music by K.I.N.D. the FUNKROCKALICIOUS sound of 2010!!!!!

Christmas Day we will open late at 5pm to give all the time with loved ones then a Turkey Dinner will preside over our new winter Menu!!!

Saturday sees our latest DJ session of the winter with DJ BULLETPROOF pumping it up from 10pm, if you missed the early December gigs, you missed it!!!

The Office is now open from11am 7 days a week serving food non stop from noon until 10pm and the party continues until 2am every night!!! Night buses are running until 11pm so don’t be afraid to unleash a large apres ski in Argie!!!!

Thanks everybody that came down to our opening night last Friday.
DJ IYE 95 is playing his usual funk & hiphop tonight from 10pm and tomorrow night we have Hors Piste’s first gig of the season at the Terrasse also from 10pm.

Argentiere’s Rusty Bar has opened under…. mostly new management

Bonfire Night, and many other seasonal and celebratory occasions, wouldn’t be the same without the right food and drink – usually something warming for a cold night.

Here are a few recipes for some traditional Nov 5th treats. Please send me your own favourites

INGREDIENTS
6 sweet and crunchy apples
6 tbsp caster sugar
85ml water
600g demerara sugar
100g unsalted butter
2 tsp vinegar
2 tsp vanilla essence

Preparation

Wash and dry the apples, remove the stalks, and push in a lollipop stick.

Place all the ingredients in a heavy-based pan and bring to the boil. Cooking time is approximately 30 minutes. If you have a sugar thermometer it should read 150C or 300F, or you can test by dripping into a bowl of cold water. The toffee is ready when drops harden.

Dip each apple into the toffee, remove and air-cool a few seconds then repeat until thickly coated.

Dip into a bowl of cold water and place on sugar-dusted tray until cool.
