Le Rusticana, Argentiere 7:30pm

There’s live music from Doug tonight at the Rusticana in Argentiere.

There’s also a BBQ, cheffed by Ian, which includes a choice of steak, chicken or salmon with 3 sides salad for around €14.

For those who need to know who Doug is….. we found out. He’s Doug the guitar/singer geezer who lives with the lovely hairdresser lady with the dog.

There are even rumours of people coming all the way from Chamonix to see Paul play and eat BBQ. Well… what else you gonna do tonight?

LES_MENUS

The new owners of the La Remise restaurant in Argentiere, Francine and Sebastien Vandenkoornhuyse, have carried out extensive renovations to make it a cosy, welcoming place.

The chef, Francine and her team propose creative cuisine with seasonal produce. In the dining room, Sebastien has chosen an authentic setting in keeping with the restaurant’s character. Stone, wood and the fireplace counterbalance the modern tones of grey and beige.

Small intimate tables and a very substantial wine list for an enchanting gastronomic journey.

LE D?âLICE WINTER OPENING PARTY

WED 8TH DEC

FROM 6PM TILL 1AM

LIVE MUSIC

FREE TASTER CANOPES AND DRINKS FROM 6 TILL 8PM

Well we made it out through the opening weekend relatively unscathed, but a tad weary. Luckily it‚Äôs a restful week for us here at Le D?©lice as we‚Äôre only open evenings (5pm-1am) till Saturday, when we open up all day for coffees, lunches, drinks and dinners. Now we‚Äôre feeling more settled we‚Äôre ready to celebrate our opening in style. This Wednesday, the 8th December, we‚Äôre throwing a little shindig. There‚Äôll be live music from Jon and we‚Äôll be offering free drinks and canap?©s between 6 and 8pm to welcome in the new season.

Everyone is welcome, from the (for now!) fresh faced seasonaires to the seasoned regulars and busy business owners buried in their woodwork. We‚Äôd especially like to invite chalet staff and owners, drivers, ski instructors, guides and people with their own local businesses so that you can meet each other and our staff. It‚Äôs a great opportunity to see what‚Äôs on offer in the valley and the girls always welcome the opportunity to glean information that they can pass onto our clients. We suggest bringing business cards, flyers and posters for the services you will be providing this winter so we can put them on show in the bar. We, in turn, will have copies of our new menus, and posters and flyers about Le D?©lice available, that we hope you will take to distribute to your clients. I‚Äôve attached our new evening menu and our general poster to this email in case any of you would like a copy but can‚Äôt make it on Wednesday. If you would like any other information about Le D?©lice please do not hesitate to contact me and I‚Äôll endeavour to give you what you need.

From the team behind Milk & Honey in London and New York, Match Bar & Grill in Melbourne and Match Bar Ibiza, The Clubhouse has developed into one of the town’s hottest venues. The menu of modern European classics changes throughout the week – Monday, Tuesday, Friday and Saturday you can choose from some of the best food in town and a three course a la carte menu for only 30e.

Wednesday is the brand new Pop Quiz, served up with a weekly classic menu (think bangers and mash or shepherds pie) and Thursday is the hugely popular 25e Snow BBQ. From 4pm on a Sunday you can sample the infamous Clubhouse roast (inc dessert and coffee for only 25e). The cosy dining room shares space with the superb lounge bar serving the best cocktails and the finest selection of whisky you’ll find in the Alps. If you’re not a member, you can usually get in for a one-off visit to decide whether you’d like to join.

We’re back and raring to go. After 4 weeks of calm it’s lovely to see the place buzzing with activity again. Colonel paint (aka my mother) has been beavering away potting plants and generally beautifying the place, in such a thorough way that only mothers seem to execute. Great smells are wafting out of the kitchen and a fabulous team of staff and generous friends are dashing about organising last minute touches I probably should’ve sorted before running away on holiday!

We open tomorrow, Thursday 10th June, at 5pm. The new evening menu will be available from 6 – 10pm. Rich and Doug will be playing music from apero time till 10pm, so fingers crossed our terrace will be sun-drenched not simply drenched!

This season sees the return of our harem of ladies. Jackie and the Claires will be front of house again and Lou will be manning the fort in the culinary hub. There’s two new arrivals on our kitchen team, and one of them may even be male (da da da dah). Although we’ll see how he copes with us overexcitable ladies, maybe I should issue him with uniform ear defenders?!

Our new summer menu is a veritable medley of flavours. There’s twists on French classics, Asian inspired salads, Italian style tapas and some hearty vegetarian dishes. It will be posted on our website, www.le-delice.eu, tomorrow once we’ve had a chance to taste and tweak the dishes later today (poor old us!)

Here’s a summary of what goes on over the summer here at Le D?©lice and don’t forget that our terrace catches the sun all day till it sets (well after Chamonix is plunged into cool shade) so not only are we a perfect spot for lunch but also for sunny aperos and dinner. If you are inclined to linger late then the amazing sunsets are not to be missed too.
