As promised we have Killer pool this Wednesday.  Get to the monkey pool table for 7pm to play a few rounds of killer.  There will be shots involved!  If you don’t know the rules don’t worry – it’s dead simple and you don’t even have to be a hot shot at pool either!

Monkey Quiz is back in full swing.  Spend an evening testing your general knowledge and other such mental skills with our favourite quiz master maverick Willy T.  There’s 100€ up for grabs as well as other prizes.  As well as the general questions there are plenty of varied rounds to keep you entertained such as Family Fortunes – Picture Rounds – Music Rounds – Sketch Rounds – and on the spot questions to earn points/shots for your team!  It’s always a good craic some get your team down (5 Max) for 9.15pm this Thursday or you’ll have to wait another 2 weeks!  Hope to see you there!

Had enough of all the ‘end of season party’ nonsense?  Well unlucky, because there is one more to go and it’s the only one that matters really.  As the official venue for the Grand Montet closing after party, well not really official, but officially the best place to be!  Don’t fret – We’re not closing.  We’ll be here all through spring and summer to supply you with all sorts of activities such as ping-pong, pub quizzes, tasty food and live music, not to mention the continual flow of cold beer.  Anyway – to the point – It’s our 7th annual end of season party and we’ve got everything that’s on this digital poster for you and we’d love to see you there.  Ping-Pong might actually be Beer-Pong by the way!  Vous en avez marre de toutes ces “soirees fin de saison”? Rate, il vous en reste une! Et certainement pas la moindre: Nous organisons l’After Party officielle de la fermeture des Grands Montets (pas vraiment officielle, mais officiellement la meilleure!). Pas de panique nous ne fermons pas pour autant! Nous serons la tous les jours qu’il pleuve ou qu’il vente tout au long du printemps et de l’ete avec notre nouvelle table de ping-pong, nos quizz, notre carte legendaire, de la music live et bien sur un flot continu de biere bien fraiche. Revenons a nos moutons: C’est notre 7eme soiree de fin de saison, et pour resumer, nous aurons  tout ce que vous pouvez voir sur le Poster… a ca pres que le ping pong se transformera tres certainement en beer-pong….

It’s Steve G’s 29th and we’re putting on a spring break party to celebrate … come and celebrate his 30-1′s  with us around the New Monkey Beer Pong Ping-Pong table!  The Party will start at 5pm and will be going on till 1.30am with DJ Richie Delf and guests.  There will be games of beer pong, lots of beer bongs, tequila, some boobs, dancing on the bar (while it’s on fire), smashing music and maybe even some lost teeth.  Throw on your old school sports gear and enjoy pitchers of lemonade and our other summer specials.  Lets have it go off!

Today is a really good day and we’ve got the Pistol Shrimps back for some funky Live Music (from 21h30 – that’s cocktail happy hour time)!  The Sun is back so you can come and bask on our sunny terrace whilst sipping on a cold beer.  Tuesday is also Curry Night – come and enjoy a delicious curry served with basmati rice, poppadoms and mango relish for just 10€.

DJ Kimba is guaranteed to make your Saturday Night the most wonderful night of the week.  He starts at 10pm.  Before that you should have made the most of 2 for 1 cocktails (9pm-10pm) so you’ll be in a wonderful dancing mood.  See you there.

Monkey quiz is coming back for your inter-season! This thursday 2nd of may our quiz master Mr Willy Small will be back on the mic to test your general knowledge and other cognitive skills. There is an 100 euro Bar tab for the winning team! It’s always great fun so come down and get involved! This qizz start at 9.15 pm so make sure your team is signed up and ready to play by 9pm! Start getting your team of 4 maximum together and sign up at Monkey!

Women’s Introduction to Touring and Backcountry

Jo Guest, old school chamoniard and founder of Mission WOW was back in Chamonix a few weeks ago for the 2013 Women’s Introduction to Touring and Backcountry Skiing. If you’re a girl who has been thinking about getting into ski touring but don’t fancy going with your dopey boyfriend and his mates, then be here next year.

Not much point in me to going into details as the poster is here.  Just that there will be prizes, music, beer bongs and lots of fun to be had!  Let’s send off this season with a bank.

The fantasticaly talented duo, The Pistol Shrimps will be rocking out on Monkey’s little stage from 21h30 this Tuesday.  We’re sad to say this may well be their last gig of the winter season so be sure to come and make it a big one.  Buy them jager bombs and request your favourites.  Lest us forget Tuesday is also curry night so come and get your spice fix!

As usual we’re open all day  on weekends (12pm-02am) serving you really full english breakfasts, loads of live sport and drinks a plenty.  Saturday night gets better, with 2 for 1 cocktails (9pm-10pm)  and DJ Kimba (left) on the decks to be sure to get you dancing with a really hot girl/guy.

It’s the weekend!  Lets drink some tequila!  Richie is back on the deck(s) from 22h to give our ears a wonderful selection of old school hip-hop, gansta rap and maybe even some rock thrown into the eclectic mix.

In 25 years, we need to realize that skiing isn’t a winter sport—it’s a snow sport. You ski when there is snow. People will ski in spring—March, April. There won’t be snow in “winter.”

It would be nice to get back to some basics. I think skiing has to remain a natural experience—I am not a fan of urbanizing the sport. I think that people in the cities are not going to start walking around the city in ski boots looking for rails. They want to get away from urban areas and go enjoy nature.”

If you haven’t caught these crazy cats yet this Wednesday is your last chance of the season.  It’s been great having 2 epic DJ’s play at monkey nearly every Wednesday this winter. Hope to see you all there to give them a proper send off.  The party starts at 10pm.

G-Stylez and Skred are back for another Wednesday of great music mixed seamlessly by great DJ’s at Monkey.  They will be rockin the show from 22h onwards.  That means just after cocktail happy hour and just before you start dancing like the lemur from Madagascar.

This Tuesday is going to be hot.  Spring is here and the sun is out.  We’re serving up a deliciously spicy curry for just 10€ and the talented duo that is the pistol shrimps will be on the stage from 9pm coinciding nicely with our usual cocktail happy hour.

The party starter Richie Delf is on the deck(s) this Friday to get your weekend off to a bang.  His eclectic bad-ass set starts at the usual 10pm just after the infamous cocktail happy hour.  You’d be mental not to come down and get messy with us.

The legendary IYE95 will be on the decks from 10pm to mix some smooth funk, beat juggle some classic hip-hop have you dance to some breaks… maybe he’ll through a little reggae in the mix!

Profile:IYE-95 (pronounced eye-nine-five) aka Ron Spade – the Ginger Ninja has been a DJ since 1984. Drawn to the sound of the cut, he begun scratching on a friend’s ropey old stack system before owning the fabled first set of decks. Within a few months was playing his first gig in a (strange and very ‘local’) pub. Playing at parties became a regular thing and the required years of debauchery followed. In 1995 (odd that) a realisation occurred which resulted in a return to the hip-hop that started the whole affair – DJ IYE-95 was born.
